BEEGEES

The Bee Gees were originally a singing trio of brothers — Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were successful for most of their forty years of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a harmonic "soft rock" act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and as the foremost stars of the disco music era in the late 1970s. The group sang three-part tight harmonies that were instantly recognisable; brother Robin's clear vibrato lead was a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became a signature sound during the disco years. The three brothers co-wrote most of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.

By 1960, the Bee Gees were featured on television shows, and in the next few years began working regularly at resorts on the Queensland coast. Barry drew the attention of Australian star Col Joye for his songwriting, and Joye helped the boys get a record deal with Festival Records in 1963 under the name "Bee Gees." The three released two or three singles a year, while Barry supplied additional songs to other Australian artists.

A minor hit in 1965, "Wine and Women", led to the group's first LP The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs. By late 1966, the brothers decided to return to England, while the rest of their family stayed in Australia. They were not confident, however, of success in England as Barry told a friend, Steven Spence, later of Lloyds World, that they would be back next year.[citation needed] While at sea in January, 1967, they heard that "Spicks and Specks", a #1 hit in October 1966 had been awarded Best Single of the Year by Go-Set, Australia's most popular and influential music newspaper.

HOTEL CALIFORNIA:not just a song

"Hotel California" topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for one week in May 1977. Three months after its release, the single was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America representing 1,000,000 records shipped. The Eagles also won the 1977 Grammy Award for Record of the Year for "Hotel California" at the 20th Annual Grammy Awards in 1978.

The song's lyrics describe the title establishment as a luxury resort where "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave." On the surface, the song tells the tale of a weary traveler who becomes trapped in a nightmarish luxury hotel that at first appeared inviting and tempting. The song is an allegory about hedonism and self-destruction in the Southern California music industry of the late 1970s; Don Henley called it "our interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles" and later reiterated "'s basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about."In 2008, Don Felder described the origins of the lyrics:

"Don Henley and Glenn wrote most of the words. All of us kind of drove into LA at night. Nobody was from California, and if you drive into LA at night... you can just see this glow on the horizon of lights, and the images that start running through your head of Hollywood and all the dreams that you have, and so it was kind of about that... what we started writing the song about. Coming into LA... and from that Life In The Fast Lane came out of it, and Wasted Time and a bunch of other songs."

n a 2009 interview, Plain Dealer music critic John Soeder asked Don Henley this about the lyrics:

On "Hotel California," you sing: "So I called up the captain / 'Please bring me my wine' / He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since 1969.'" I realize I'm probably not the first to bring this to your attention, but wine isn't a spirit. Wine is fermented; spirits are distilled. Do you regret that lyric?

Henley responded,

"Thanks for the tutorial and, no, you're not the first to bring this to my attention—and you're not the first to completely misinterpret the lyric and miss the metaphor. Believe me, I've consumed enough alcoholic beverages in my time to know how they are made and what the proper nomenclature is. But that line in the song has little or nothing to do with alcoholic beverages. It's a sociopolitical statement. My only regret would be having to explain it in detail to you, which would defeat the purpose of using literary devices in songwriting and lower the discussion to some silly and irrelevant argument about chemical processes."

so...enjoy this gr8 song....................this is not just a song...it has something which move every listener to think abt it......

I'll do anything to help you understand

GD7G
I love you more than anybody can.

CD7G
And the wind will whisper your name to me

CD7G

little birds will sing along in time,

CD7GC

leaves will bow down when you walk by

GD7G
and morning bells will chime

GCG

I'll be there when you're feelin' down

CD7G
to kiss away the tears if you cry,

CD7GC
I'll share with you all the happiness I've found

GD7G
a reflection of the love in your eyes.

CD7G
And I'll sing you the songs of the rainbow,

JOHN DENVER:my fvt one

One of the world's best-known and best-loved performers, John Denver earned international acclaim as a songwriter, performer, actor, environmentalist and humanitarian. John’s music has spanned three decades, outlasted countless musical trends, and garnered numerous music awards and honors, including a 1996 Induction into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and in 1993, the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Music award.

The son of a U.S Air Force officer, John’s artistic journey began after the family moved to Tucson, where at age eleven, he was given his grandmother’s guitar. John eventually took up guitar lessons and joined a boy’s choir, which led him at age 20 to take matters into his own hands and pursue his dream of a career in music.

In 1963 he struck out on his own, moving to Los Angeles to be in the heart of the burgeoning music scene. It was during this time that Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was urged by friends to change his name if a recording career was to be in his future. His friends suggested the name John Sommerville, but he ultimately took his stage name from the beautiful Rocky Mountain capital city of Colorado, his home state.

John Denver experienced his first major break in the music industry when he was chosen from 250 other hopefuls as lead singer for the popular Mitchell Trio. Two years and three albums later, John had honed his considerable vocal talent and developed his own song writing style. He soon gained recognition when his song Leaving On A Jet Plane was recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary, becoming their first and only Number One hit.

Less than two years later, after the trio disbanded, John himself was climbing up the Pop charts with songs like “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine On My Shoulders,” “Annie’s Song,” “Back Home Again,” “Thank God I’m A Country Boy,” and “Calypso,” –solidifying his position as one of the top stars of the decade.

Denver's concert tours reached millions globally. The world embraced John - captivated by each new release, including 14 gold albums and 8 platinum albums in the U.S as well as numerous gold and platinum sales overseas.

Sometimes You Have To Choose A Song (by Gail)

(in the next week ..i will post my new original poem... till then enjoy my collection)

Rain . . .

Softly falling down . . .
each drop a symphony of sound . . .
as it hits the tin roof . . .
tap . . . tap . . . tap.

It can sound just like a sad song with a slow beat . . .
the kind that makes you daydream . . .
and feel sad and sigh . . .
as you think of what might of been or could be in your life.

Or maybe it is a happy song that brings back sweet memories . . .
tender thoughts and special smiles . . .
thinking of someone who makes your heart beat faster . . .
and your laughter ring with happiness and joy.

Or maybe it is a love song . . .
with sweet and soft lyrics . . .
tender and romantic and sensual . . .
that makes you think of dancing in the rain.

Only you can decide which song . . .
is the one you are hearing . . .
which music soothes your soul . . .
and which song you want to sing along with.

Sometimes, you have to choose a song . . .
and the choosing isn't easy.

“I'm sorry, I don't know.” I love you too

Before her 18th birthday, the girl wished to her boy friend a diamond ring. Her boyfriend promised that he will buy a ring.

The girl was very happy. She went to salon to have some make-over to look beautiful on her birthday. She bought make-ups, new clothes and new shoes.

The night she's been waiting for arrived. She look elegant, gorgeous. Everybody were focused to her. The party started when her boyfriend arrived with a doll..

The girl get mad at her boyfriend. She thought the he will give her a ring instead of a doll, she threw the doll. The guy ran as fast as he could to save the doll. But a car hit him…he died in hospital after a few hours. The girl felt very sorry, she cried every minute when she remember everything.

In the burial the girl cried, she hugged the doll tightly. She was shocked when the doll talked and said “ Happy birthday baby, will you marry me? get the ring on the doll's pocket hope you like it. I LOVE YOU”. The girl cried so much.

The girl went outside and ....................shouted “I'm sorry baby!....... I don't know........... I love you too!”

Sparsh

main phir se lautna chahta hoon apne bachpan me

jahan main tha or saath me andekha sansaar

wo sab kitana acha tha ..haan.. us andekhe sansaar ko

jeena chahta hun phir se

sparsh karna chahta hun us bachpan ko

jo kahin choot gaya hai peeche

yun haath hilaate hue jab bichadtaa hun apno se

us ek pal me ehsaas hota hai us sparsh ka

haan ...maa ka wo pyar bhara sparsh

or meri masoom si hansi

kho gayi hai is badappan me

ab main bada ho gaya hun

sabhi yahi kehte hain

is samjhdaari se wo bachpan acha

jab nischal aankhon se dekhte the har chij ko

wo maa ka sparsh

wo pyar....

ab doston me mila hai kahin

dikhi uski hi jhalak

ab main bachpan unke sath baant taa hun

wahan main bachpan me ho jaata hun

wo sparsh jab main kabhi roya

wo sparsh jab main kabhi hansaa

phir se ek baar samay se bhagnaa chahta hun

haan ...main laut jaan chahta hun

haan..main laut jaana chahta hun

Shabd:PARICHAY

"jab kisi se koi gila rakhna samne apne aaina rakhna"-: jagjeet Singh

ab main kuch kehtaa hoon
"Chehre ki shiquan or khamosh aankhen
bahut kuch keh jaati hain teri
jaroori nahi har bhavna ko shabd milen
kuch baation ko ankahi hi rahne do
jaanta hun tujhe main aise hi
meri nazron main teri pehchaan hai aise hi
khamoshi jyada asar karti hai
jinhe shabdon ki jarrorat nahi hoti
wo shabd bade anmol hote hain
bas thoda ruk kar dekho jara
aankhon ke paani me bhavnaaon ko pehchaano jara
aankhon ke paani me bhavnaaon ko ...............
aankhon ke paani me bhavnaaon ko .............."
